College football players, led by Kain Colter of Northwestern, have won an important and historical case with the National Labor Relations Board to form a union as college athletes.
“@USWPolitical: #CAPA wins at NLRB! Athletes will have their union! More details to come”

This is a critical step for those seeking official union recognition for college athletes. This is far from being even remotely close to being over, but it’s a step that a lot of people never thought would happen just a short time ago. The next move will likely play out in Washington D.C.
Keep in mind that this case isn’t pushing actual payments for players, but it’s more about health benefits and safety during and AFTER a student athlete leaves the institution.
This is going to get interesting in a hurry.
Important: If athletes at Northwestern are deemed to be employees, so too shall athletes at Stanford, USC, and other private schools. Huge.
