Notre Dame received its first defensive verbal commitment from 3 star safety, Prentice McKinney late Thursday night. The hard-hitting safety from Dallas, Texas had offers from all over country- including Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, but chose the Irish even though he has still not visited Notre Dame.

There are two things that truly stick out here; McKinney’s dope hair, and Kerry Cooks landing yet another prospect from the Lone Star state. Cooks has done a great job over the past few year making inroads back into Texas, and that hard work is starting to really pay off with yet another defensive back. Hopefully, this trend continues both in Texas, and the spring run of commitments.
