Preseason award watch lists are about as ridiculous as the preseason polls. I never get too excited or upset about either, but I still manage to find my way over to them because of some type of ridiculous addiction to all things college football.
This must be what people who huff paint feel like. And that brings me to this:

the 2014 @jimthorpeaward Watch List has been released at http://t.co/KiRIGVL4Dk #thorpeaward #NCFAA

Go ahead and check those three awards out for a moment and you’ll notice something so absurd and flamboyantly wrong, that you might think that you were at a Three 6 Mafia concert and Josh Groban walks on stage.
KeiVarae Russell is on the watch list for two different awards given to the best defensive player in college football, yet somehow he is not on the watch list for the best defensive back in college football WHICH HAS 39 OTHER PLAYERS ON IT.
39 other defensive backs rated higher than Russell? Only in Oklahoma.
