With a little over a week to go until it's National Signing Day, Notre Dame is down to the wire with a few recruits. This past weekend was a HUGE weekend for the Irish in terms of official visits and basically, selling the program to 4 of its last 5 targets.
Notre Dame did get a verbal commitment this past weekend from one of those targets in Texas tight end, Durham Smythe.

Smythe is the second tight end in this class (Matuska is a DL- try to keep up) and the 23rd commitment overall.
From what is gathered, there are two open spots remaining in this class, as long as Vanderdoes is one of them. If Mr. Vanderdoes does not sign with the Irish, that would leave Fitts, Prevot, and Hollins as the contenders for the last spot (Prevot will visit next weekend).
We think.
At any rate, the Irish are primed to finish no less than in the top 5 in team recruiting rankings and still has a chance to finish with the too class. Ya know… If you're into all that.
Buckle up y'all… the roller coaster "death drop of oh fuck" could still happen at any minute.
God damn I hate recruiting.
Welcome to ND Durham! The tea party starts at 6 pm.
