Notre Dame football showed up in a way we haven't seen in a very, very long time during its 30-13 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners. On a HUGE, national stage, with an unquantifiable amount of stakes on the line; Notre Dame delivered and proved to the nation that it is one of the best teams in the country- with out question.
It was supposed to go much differently. This was supposed to be the "unveiling" of Notre Dame football as a pretender, as a paper tiger, and as an old-timer being nothing more than a wanna be.
They were wrong. They were ALL so very, very wrong.
I couldn't help but notice the irony as it was marching by side by side with the Irish backs. One of the most popular picks for this game was an Oklahoma blowout by the score of 30-13. How sweet it is for ND Nation to close the game out with that exact score.
I'll have more in the Hangover post to come (soon, I promise) but until then, soak it all up. This season has been an amazing run thus far and even though there are four games left; we can all be proud of this team and this coaching staff for what has been accomplished up to this point.
Notre Dame football has always been relevant, but has been napping on the field for almost two decades. The echoes are awake. The volley cheer has been sent high. The thunder has been shook. We continue marching onwards towards victory. Notre Dame football is most certainly back.
