The Anti-Preview: BYU. October 20, 2012

notre dame byu preview

Holy shit, it's the Anti-Preview! Yes, after a week off due to uhh… stuff… we are motherfucking back bitches. However, there is a slight catch. Last night, as I was pounding away on the keyboard and pounding back a few beloved PBR's, I realized that I was creating a masterpiece. Or some shit like that. Long story short, the entire article got deleted only a few paragraphs away from the finish. So, here is a much abbreviated version for your enjoyment.

Sorry, y'all. Blame Joomla. I did. Twice

On to the Anti-Preview…

byuBYU

I'm sorry. I was not one of the many that were pissing down their legs about this game in the preseason. Many were pointing to this game and remembering pass happy BYU teams of old and then looking at our secondary full of inexperience and were all, "Oh fuck man… they gonna get smoked back there."

I can understand that, but there was just something about this game that kept me putting it in the "W" column for me. Even now, people are looking at this #7 ranked scoring defense of BYU's and are questioning if ND can score points on the Cougars. Well, if you looked at BYU's schedule, you will see a pretty easy slate and they just got rocked by Oregon State and their backup QB 42-24.

Game. Set. Match.

What Should You Be Drinking?

It's time to Zombie this shit up son!

Subway Domer Crack

One part Apple Cider or Apple Juice
One part Rum

Mix together in a large water bottle, apple cider jug, cup, keg- whatever. Mix and drink yo! The type of rum is almost inconsequential. Captain Morgan is always a solid choice, but Bacardi does make a Big Apple rum that works quite well too. It just doesn't matter. You'll be getting wasted with ease.

Now, lock yourself into a dark space and listen to the following music while drinking the SD Crack. Apple Zombies son!

sausage apples What Should You Be Eating?

This dish is one of the pure classics when it comes to the Subway Domer Anti-Preview cuisine. Sausage and Fried Apples. There are many, many ways to make this succulent plate of heaven, but I'm going to show you how I make it best.

  • 3 lbs. of Eckrich skinless Sausage
  • 5 Apples (any kind you like bozo)
  • Butter
  • 3 shots of Jack Daniels
  • 1/4 cup of Brown Sugar

Put some butter in a big pan. Lots of butter. Slice up your apples and put them in the pan. Now take a shot of Jack Daniels and put it down your throat. Take the other two shots and the brown sugar and put it in the pan. Fry it all up for about 5 minutes on high. Slice your sausage up in threes and put it in the pan for 5 minutes while stir-frying it all. Take the contents of that pan and put in a crock pot. Heat on low for 2 hours. Serve. Send all thank-yous to my email.

Irish Stew

If you haven't listened to the Manti Te'o interview with Jim Rome… here ya go. His legacy continues to become more and more a thing of legend.

cierre woodOffensive MVP

Cierre Wood. I'm not sure if Wood is still unofficially in the doghouse with Kelly, or if I'm just seeing this all wrong. Why isn't Wood getting more carries? WHY ISN'T WOOD GETTING MORE CARRIES? When you talk about the "eyeball test" Wood does favorably better in my eyes. It's hard to put my finger on it, but it just freaks me the shit out.

In many ways, I think Notre Dame will want to show that it is a "physical presence" once again and will look to its running game to flex its muscles. This is how Wood has shined all season, and I see him going over the century mark with a couple of TD's.

Defensive MVP

Zeke Motta. In a lot of ways, I think Motta has been over looked by a great deal of people when discussing the surprising and excellent play from the Fighting Irish secondary.

Motta has been the constant- the rock back there. After rewatching the Stanford game, I came away more impressed with Motta than I was during the live viewing. His vicious hits and play against the run have always been a strength, but he's just so damn good at that, AND much better in coverage this year.

This week the football gods smile upon Motta and he gets involved in a turnover or two. Nice.

Something Else To Watch For

Well… this could get interesting:

At The End Of The Day

Notre Dame may very well be tired and beat up a bit after that epic victory over Stanford, but with this team I think it is all about Mind Over Matter. IRISH WIN 30-3. I'm really not even sure if BYU will score, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and will suggest that something fluky may happen to get them in scoring range. As far as the Irish go, I already stated that the ground game will probably be their main focus and the reason for the overall success of the day. 7-0 MOTHERFUCKERS!
