Before Notre Dame had even begun its first spring practice, the ground work had been laid. No, not by the team, but by The Subway Domer.
Last year, Play on Playa was a popular pre-spring post that broke down what players would separate themselves into Major Playa’s vs. Minor Playa’s. The theory was that a simple depth chart was unsatisfactory in today’s game of rotating players at certain positions. What players would be those IMPACT guys for this team.
After that, the summer season provided us with the very popular Wu Am I? series. The series was in its third season and it was a more individualized version of Play On Playa. The series took 36 players from the roster and designated them as the 36 that would most impact the team in the fall.
After a busy offseason started to wear down on your Emperor, Play On Playa was pushed farther and farther back until spring was finally over and the whole post seemed out of date. Because of this, Wu Am I? is effectively pulled from the summer lineup on Subway Domer. Instead, a new version of Play On Playa will be introduced. It will be a classic blend of both the now cancelled Wu Am I? and the former Play On Playa series.
You can expect a rundown of the player profiles throughout the summer. The best thing, is that I may even get all of the scholarship guys covered if I do this thing right. However, there will be a Playa-Meter to show what kind of impact that player may have on the 2011 season.
