Notre Dame Slides By Pitt 15-12

Notre Dame beat Pitt 15-12, and it wasn’t very pretty. Get over it. Stop all of your clowning and chicken little bullshit right now. A win is a win, and a win on the road is a big win. I know this is nothing you want to hear right now, and that’s why I’m telling you this.

Somewhat lost in all of the Rees and Kelly bashing is the performance of Jonas Gray.

Not only did Gray score his first TD of his Notre Dame career, but he also did it in style. A 79 yard run of speed and will. It was the longest run by an Irish back since Terrence Howard vs. West Virginia in 2000. Gray had only 3 carries for 84 yards, but he was a key part of this offense today, and for the season thus far.

Gray was the scapegoat (along with Crist) for the loss against USF. Many thought Gray had seen the last of his carries. Instead, he has become even more important to this offense while splitting time with Cierre Wood.

Cheers for Jonas. He made the most of his opportunity today, and Irish fans should just take that in and celebrate the victory.

I’ll have more in the Hangover to come.
