Yes, it was a beating. Notre Dame’s victory over Michigan State, 31-13, was a physical statement. Notre Dame ran the football and stopped the run. Physical football: ADVANTAGE IRISH.
I’ll have a real, actual Hangover Post up real soon, but I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the freshman on Notre Dame’s team that helped make this victory.
Guys like Aaron Lynch, George Atkinson III, Stephon Tuitt, Ishaq Williams, Kyle Brindza, and Troy Niklas provided valuable game-winning minutes. I’m usually skeptical of expecting freshman to provide major impact on a team, but as a group they gave Notre Dame that extra push. Whether it be kickoff returns for touchdowns (Atkinson), or quarterback pressure (Lynch), or being the next man in (Niklas)- or whatever… they delivered, and Notre Dame delivered us their first win of the season.
