I realize that I promised a recruiting post over the bye week… but I needed a break. I’ll actually have more on that adventure later tonight. Anyways, while I was trolling through a few things, I ran across this video from the ESPN recruiting “analysts.” I could have got wasted if I was playing a drinking game that involved me doing a shot for every time they say “Florida.”
The recruiting worlds obsession with the prep players from Florida is beyond comparison to anything else in sports. Don’t get me twisted, Florida is probably the best state in terms of football recruiting, but it’s not like there aren’t any other players out there.
Here’s these “experts” talking about the 3 decommitments that Notre Dame has had in the past few weeks:
I normally don’t put videos up from ESPN, and it may not be working by the time this gets to you (most of the ESPN vids that I have ever put on this site have mysteriously gone missing), but I thought some of you may find it interesting.
BTW… If you need concrete answers on why these kids are going elsewhere, here ya go:
- Burton wants to play with his brother at Florida.
- Prestwood wants to stay closer to home (Florida State is likely).
- Lynch announced, on Facebook, that his ACT score jumped from a 12 to a 18.
Of course, here I am, downplaying Florida a little bit, and the People’s Champ tweets this:
Go figure.
