Happy Birthday to me, bitches! Well, the website anyways. Subway Domer turns four this week. It’s still surprising that after 4 years, I have continued to write and operate this thing.
The original name of this blog was always supposed to be “Lou Holtz Is My Mother.” Naming it “Subway Domer,” was the first in a long, long, list of mistakes made (of course I am just joking… or am I?). I sucked in the begining, and now, I don’t suck as much. Some people really like the site, some don’t, and some are flat out confused by my bi-polar writing style.
I have never been big on photoshopping, tables, videos (my own- you know I have never met a video embed code that I didn’t like), or being the most timely of posters.
I think I have been able to be as original as I could be in a very crowded and very good Irish blogosphere.
At least the hate mail has slowed down.
There are a lot of thank-yous that I want to dish out, so here they are:
- Domer Domain
- Her Loyal Sons
- OC Domer
- The Blue-Gray Sky
- Mike Frank
- Spencer Hall/Orson Swindle (EDSBS)
- Ben Koo/Derek Hanson/Dave (Bloguin Mgmt.)
- Ryan Carmody (NDLNA)
- Whiskey (One Foot Down)
- Mike Felder (In The Bleachers)
- Wolverine Liberation Army (seriously)
- The Blogpoll Keith Arnold (NBC)
- Mark (A Stern Warning)
- Andy Staples (Sports Illustrated)
- Charlie Weis
- The Brawling Hibernian & KGG (Subway Domer Staff)
- Kelly Bloor
- The Notre Dame Stadium Ushers
- My Family
- Touchdown Jesus
- Irish Blogger Gathering
In one way or another, all of these people or groups have either directly helped me with the blog, or have indirectly taught me a lesson. Many, many thanks to all of you.
Of course, none of this would be worth it without the loyal readers that I have fooled into thinking that I have a clue about what I am talking about. Your gullible nature has made Subway Domer the greatest mediocre Notre Dame Football blog out there. Love ya!
I had planned on writing a lot more, and with a lot more depth, but seeing as how I am more than a couple cocktails down since the “real” workday ended… see, you already know me as well as I know myself.
One “small” thing: My second child is due to arrive in mid-June. I’m not sure what kind of direction the site will take, but thanks to technological advances throughout Subway Domer Publishing’s infrastructure, things should remain somewhat status quo.
Thanks again, and Happy Birthday to me!
(If you feel left out of the thank-you’s, please provide your grievance below- wuss.)
