Bagpipe Monday: Turning Point

bagpipe monday

Welcome to this weeks edition of Bagpipe Monday. Friends, we just witnessed a great win. DO NOT undersell this victory. Do not make that mistake. This was supposed to be…

  • Another Irish home loss.
  • Another Irish Senior Day loss.
  • Another step back for the program.
  • The knockout punch for 2010.

Everybody in the country was calling this one for the Utes- INCLUDING, a vast majority of our fanbase. I have already started to hear some of the media downplay the victory, and talk about how bad Utah really is, and how they let TCU beat them two weeks in a row.

What they are doing, is missing the point.  Notre Dame could have just said, “Fuck it!” and packed it in for the season. They didn’t. They played physical, and played with the emotion that has been lacking in the previous two games in 2010 (and the last 2 senior day games, for that matter). It was a GREAT victory, and it could very well turn this season around.

The Irish are 5-5 with games against Army, and U$C remaining. If Notre Dame could somehow manage to win both games and finish the season at 7-5, or even split the last two and finish 6-6, than this season will be a success for the start of the Brian Kelly era. It would put the Irish in a bowl game and give them much needed extra practice to further progress on both sides of the ball.

It could all go back to this game, this GREAT victory.

Don’t forget to vote in this weeks poll, and enjoy the pipes!
