They are dropping like flies. Dropping like flies that have been poisoned with Lady Gaga saliva; RECRUITS. The news has been steady and ominous over the past few months as we have seen one ND target/offer after another commit elsewhere. But, honestly, that’s recruiting. You win some, and you most certainly lose some.
Notre Dame just won one… for now:
According to multiple sources throughout recruiting circles, Romeo Okwara has committed to Notre Dame per his Facebook account. (Please be aware that I have not personally seen his Facebook Wall- because that is creepy as all fuck).
It is kind of odd. Okwara had recently said that he would make a decision later- after more visits to other schools, and then he commits to the Irish right out of the blue. There is no word on if Romeo will still take all, if any, of his official visits to some of the other schools on his offer list, such as: Miami, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Clemson- or others.
As of right now, Romeo is Notre Dame’s 12 verbal commitment for the class of 2012, and its second outside linebacker in the ’12 class (David Perkins is the other).
Here are a few things you should know:
- Okwara attends Ardrey Kell high school… the same school that Prince Shembo attended
- Okwara will be an OLB… just like Prince Shembo
- Okwara’s older brother graduated with Prince Shembo
Of course this all means that he will be a badass… just like Prince Shembo. It does beg the question- just how many awesomely named football players can Notre Dame get from Ardrey Kell?
