Welcome back to another Bagpipe Monday on Subway Domer. Friends, now that the BCS National Title game is only hours away, the official end of the college football season ends with the crowning of either Auburn or Oregon being crowned the Champions.
That ending only gives birth to a 3 week hell ride to National Signing Day. Notre Dame is trying to end this recruiting class with an “atomic bomb” as they are in play for a large number of top recruits still undecided. This 2011 class is an important ending of the first year of the Brian Kelly regime. Can he fill Notre Dame’s needs.
The Irish are trying to fill its 85 man roster to maximum capacity for the first time in many years. The Irish have been a few scholarships short for a long time, but this year they should end that drought. There are basically 4-5 spots left- depending on what you read, but more importantly- who Kelly invites back for a 5th year, and the Ruffer decision. (Please note, that I do not count Nate Montana as a scolarship, because I don’t believe that Notre Dame will offer him one in 2011 if they need it for a recruit).
I’ll have more on the roster, and some recruiting stuff this week (some of it may surprise you). Until then, remember to vote in this weeks poll, and enjoy the pipes!
