Bagpipe Monday: Solar Eating Dishes And Pledges Of Love From Minors

bagpipe monday
I’m going to make this short and sweet, kind of. It’s Bagpipe Monday, and I have fell behind just a “little” bit. I’m going to jam-pack some stuff, before we get to the pipes…

Notre Dame got a verbal commitment from former North Carolina commitment, Everett Golson.
Brian Kelly is a man possessed when it comes to quarterbacks, and he got one with a lot of athleticism and a winning attitude. Golson will be an early enrollee in January, so he has less time to break our hearts and decide that ND just isn’t the place for him. He probably deserves a more Subway Domeresque commitment post, but I am still walking cautiously until signing day (or the start of winter semester in Golson’s case).

Adding Golson brings the scholarship QB total for 2011 up to 5, and that doesn’t include Montana.

Sun Bowl bound and proud. Notre Dame is heading to El Paso to play the Miami Hurricanes in the Sun Bowl. As for myself, I couldn’t be happier considering the alternatives. Any Irish fan that bitches about anything when it comes to this matchup can let me know and I will beat your ass with the Hammer of Thor. That’s Nordic, bitches.

Think about it. What were your thoughts on the future of the 2010 Notre Dame football season after the Irish lost 2 in a row to Navy and then Tulsa? Yeah, I thought so. I know Miami is unranked, and coachless. I know the Sun Bowl isn’t one of the premier bowls, but take a closer look at the bowl lineup, and you will see that the Sun Bowl, despite popular opinion (mainly ESPN’s) is one of the of the oldest and most non ESPN/ABC bowls around. I’ll have MUCH more on this game before December 31st… I promise. I won’t be as senseless as Randal Hill, but then- who can?

And while I am throwing some stuff in here, Brian Kelly thinks he could kick Randy Shannon’s ass:

DON’T FORGET TO VOTE IN THIS WEEKS POLL, AND ENJOY THE “PIPES”!!!
