Subway Domer 2012 Staff Predictions Done Smart (And Late)

We know who we are at SubwayDomer.com – the older bastard child who is constantly embarrassing the relatives at Christmas Eve Dinner and many a family function. We're late, we're loud, we cuss in front of small children, and we sure as hell aren't posting our 2012 Staff Predictions the same week as every single other site you frequent. We were more focused on which liquored up beverage option we would pound down before the sun came up last Saturday than trying to keep up with the Jones's of the Irish Blogger Gathering. You can have your too early predictions because we let Week 1 play out and marinate in our beer soaked brains before calling some shots from our computers about what's going to happen during the BCS's long awaited Death March to obscurity. I'm sure the anticipation is killing you so let's get the ball rolling on the predictions from your favorite ND bloggers at SubwayDomer.com, where we toil in filth and obscurity:

Updated: We, Loyal Sons of Her Lady at the SubwayDomer.com, apologize for the tardiness of our 2012 Season Predictions. As devout Catholics and pillars of the community, our availability for prognostication diminished due to many sick children and our responsibilities as fathers and deacons was paramount to informing our dedicated fans of our expectations for the upcoming edition of Our Father's most holy pastime. We give thanks to Him for providing us another season of fulfilling his wishes on the gridiron by the future leaders of our communities and great nation. We shall send a volley cheer on high and with His permission may Notre Dame shake down the thunder from the sky. The 2012 SD Staff humbly offers our forecast of what lays ahead in the autumn months of collegiate American football:

THE Subway Domer aka "Credential"

  • Notre Dame 2012 Record: 9-3
  • BCS Title Game: Alabama v. Florida State
  • Heisman: QB Matt Barkley, USC
  • National Champion: Alabama Crimson Tide
  • Notes: BYU will be easier than we think. Wake Forest will be tougher than we think. By Week 6 the Cierre Wood suspension will have been a blessing in disguise.

Steve in Iowa

  • Notre Dame 2012 Record: 9-3
  • BCS Title Game: Alabama v. Oregon
  • Heisman: QB Geno Smith, West Virginia (2012's Cam Newton/RGIII)
  • National Champion: Alabama
  • Notes: Only 1 more win that 2011, but very visible improvements on the field against a very strong schedule. Alabama is just insanely good and is reloading NFL talent. ND will beat OU or USC, but I'm not sure which yet.

Blog Davie

  • Notre Dame 2012 Record: 8-4
  • BCS Title Game: Alabama v. Oregon
  • Heisman: QB Geno Smith, West Virginia
  • National Champion: Alabama

Great Shane

  • Notre Dame 2012 Record: 9-3
  • BCS Title Game: Alabama v. West Virginia
  • Heisman: QB Matt Barkley, USC
  • National Champion: Alabama
  • Notes: Irish start out 5-0 with solid victories over MSU & Michigan. BYU comes to South Bend and upsets the Irish who also stumble against Oklahoma a week later. ND re-groups but can't match up with Barkley, Woods, Lee & Co. in Southern California. ND is given a BCS game anyways and can't pull it out against Virginia Tech.

Herring Bone

  • Notre Dame 2012 Record: 9-3
  • BCS Title Game: Alabama v. Oregon
  • Heisman: RB Le'Veon Bell, Michigan State
  • National Champion: Alabama
  • Notes: Notre Dame is very much "in" every loss and the foundation is set with younger players for 2013 preseason Top 5 & MNC hype. MSU will win the Big 10 outright behind Bell and thrash Michigan.

There you have it. Not a double digit win total among the bloggers for Notre Dame and Alabama goes 5-5 on this site. Sure was nice having that extra week to analyze. Now let's all get back to predicting Notre Dame wins every game, every week on every blog.
