The Southern Cal Hangover

If you really sit back and think about it, Notre Dame’s 49-14 loss to Southern Cal was the only real way to end this season. The train-wreck needed a final explosion. Regardless of any opinion you may have about how this all happened, the fact is that Notre Dame got absolutely crushed by it’s rival in an embarrassing fashion, and as with any season-ending embarrassment; the consequences may be severe.

No, Brian Kelly will not be fired, and NO, the quarterback situation is not even remotely figured out, but I do believe that a massive shakeup with the Notre Dame coaching staff is soon on its way. The details of which aren’t exactly clear, but this staff has been together for a while now and it would be somewhat obvious that multiple pink slips will be handed out.

Now that I got that out of the way, we can talk about the game.

WHAT SHOULD I SAY? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO READ? WHAT DO YOU NEED TO READ?

Seriously. I could write “ass-kicking” a thousand times and that would make for a very well written and in depth post game report. To legitimize this endeavor, I will simply bulletpoint a few things:

  • The offensive line played like shit- as they have for most of the season. Soft, confused, and lethargic.
  • The wide receivers played equally bad to the offensive line. Drop City is a real place and apparently it’s in California.
  • The quarterback situation will continue to be a situation.
  • Having most of your entire first string defense injured, and then having a lot of your second string defense get injured, and then playing a lot of really young and inexperienced players on defense- it really, really sucks ass.

So… that’s it. That’s all I got for now on this game. It was an ass-kicking.

The End.
