Freshman Jersey Numbers Are Announced And Few Changes For A Few Others

One of the fun things when a kid commits to a school is guessing what his jersey number will be. I always take a stab at it in The Subway Domer Recruiting Spectacular, and I can honestly say that I get a few guesses right.

Here are the jersey numbers for the incoming freshman of 2010:

  • #7 Tai-ler Jones
  • #8 Kendall Moore
  • #12 Andrew Hendrix
  • #13 Danny Spond
  • #13 Tommy Rees
  • #14 Luke Massa
  • #28 Austin Collinsworth
  • #31 Cameron Roberson
  • #34 Prince Shembo
  • #49 Derek Roback
  • #53 Justin Utupo
  • #64 Tate Nichols
  • #67 Louis Nix
  • #74 Christian Lombard
  • #82 Alex Welch
  • #86 Bennett Jackson
  • #87 Daniel Smith
  • #93 Bruce Heggie
  • #96 Kona Schwenke

There are also some changes for current players as well:

  • Alex Bullard #68 to #72
  • Bobby Burger #86 to #41
  • Theo Riddick #32 to #84
  • Brandon Walker #14 to #96

Very nice!

I totally will over-analyze this.

No. 8 is a weird number for Moore.

No. 12 is nice for Hendrix, his future looks bright with that digit.

Riddick switching to No. 84? Must be he had to now that he's a receiver? I liked him with No. 32!

Walker switching to No. 96? I guess that means we'll never see him on the field? Kickers don't wear numbers like that, do they?

Moore wore #8 in high school and it isnt that uncommon for a college LB to wear a single digit.

Riddicks change was probably a mental push by himself or coach Kelly to help cement his move to wr.

12 is one of my favorite #'s, so he better come correct.

Kickers wear whatever number is laying around. Period.

Lets not forget, it means Spond and Rees will not be on the field at the same time and Walker and Schwenke won't either. Probably not a big deal.
